Graphic Designer & IT Officer

Job Purpose:

The Graphic Designer & IT Officer will provide day-to-day IT and graphic design support to the organization. The position will ensure that staff have reliable access to computers, printers, scanners, internet and other IT services, while also producing quality communication, branding, IEC and multimedia materials.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Support and Systems

• Provide first-line technical support to staff for computer, software, printer, scanner, internet, Wi-Fi and other IT-related issues.
• Install, configure, update and maintain computers, software, antivirus and other IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity problems and coordinate with external service providers when required.
• Manage user accounts, email systems, software updates and basic system administration.
• Maintain IT equipment and asset records and keep track of repairs, maintenance and replacements.
• Provide basic guidance to staff on the safe and effective use of IT systems and equipment.

2. Backup, Data Security and Maintenance

• Develop and maintain a reliable backup system for important organizational and projects data.
• Conduct regular backups and periodically test data recovery to ensure information can be restored when needed.
• Maintain appropriate access controls and support data protection and information security.
• Recommend improvements to data storage, backup, equipment and IT systems.

3. Graphic Design and Branding

• Develop and maintain the organization's branding system, including templates, logos, colors, fonts and other visual identity materials.
• Design brochures, flyers, posters, banners, infographics, certificates, presentations, reports, social media graphics and other communication materials.
• Develop IEC and visibility materials for project, awareness sessions, trainings and community engagement.
• Ensure all materials are consistent with organizational branding and, where applicable, donor requirements.
• Coordinate with printing and other vendors when required and review final products before printing.

4. Photography and Video

• Capture photographs and videos during organizational events, field visits, trainings and project activities.
• Edit photographs and videos for social media, reports, presentations, training materials and other communication purposes.
• Prepare and subtitle videos where required.
• Ensure timely collection of photographs and videos from field teams and staff.
• Organize, archive and safely back up photographs, videos and other digital media.
• Ensure appropriate photo/video consent is obtained and documented in accordance with organizational policies.
• Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Communications or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in IT support, graphic design, communications or a combined role.
• Experience working with an NGO or humanitarian organization is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, internet troubleshooting and data backup.
• Good knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier and/or InDesign.
• Experience in photography, video editing and digital content production.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English and good knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto.
